Game 4 - Cards vs. Eagles

I knew that time would escape me when it came to posting pictures.  However, I am so much better at this point then I was last year at this time.   We had two games in a row so posting was a little bit of a challenge.  But let's get caught up, shall we?

On Sunday, September 23, 2012 the Cards played the Philadelphia Eagles.   The game was exciting and fun!  And although the Cardinals dominated the entire game, I was still stressed out the entire time!

Despite the fact that  I despise Michael Vick, I did get a picture of him running onto the field:

Here's a shot of #10 DeSean Jackson:

The Arizona Cards Flag Guys are so much fun!  They really rally the crowd and get the noise started:

Our camera was not co-operating again; we were both too lazy to try to figure out what was going on with it so once again, we put it away so all I have is my iphone pictures:

My favorite part:

Big Thunder and Big Red getting the party started:

The half time show included some Mariachi and Mexican dancers:

There's my favorite mascot:

Coach Andy Reid on his way back to the locker room after the game:

Michael Vick on his was back to the locker room :

The final score was 27-6, with the Cardinals winning the game and going on to a 3-0 record.  The best season start the Cardinals have had since 1974.  It was a huge win!

Go CARDS!

Game 3 - Cards vs. Seahawks

What a great time we had on Sunday!  It was the first home game of the regular season.  We had a great time tailgating -- we spent Saturday prepping and getting ready --  but it was completely worth it in the end.  We had good grub and good company.  We got to the stadium at 9am and got back home at about 7:00pm.  We make it a WHOLE day event!

Sweetheart was on camera duty this week but we forgot to pack backup batteries for the camera.  The crisp looking photos were taken by me with my iphone.  The dull, fuzzy picture were taken by Sweetheart.  After a while, we just put the camera away for obvious reasons.

We did get some pictures.  Here's the intro:

I wish I could have gotten a better picture of the flag.  It was rolled out during the National Anthem and it covered the entire field:

This never gets old for me and Sweetheart knows it's my favorite so he got a pic for me.  The players taking a moment to take a knee:

 There's my Big Red:

And again:

Some play time shots:

The Seahawks QB, Russell Wilson, was little but QUICK:

Poor John.  He sprained his ankle and was carted away.....

The defense did a great job of holding off a furious comeback by the Seahawks.  The fans were so loud that I swear the stadium was rocking.  It was awesome!

Next game is Sunday, September 23rd against the Eagles.   It will definitely be time to:

Protect The Nest! The Arizona Cardinals - WE DO THIS TOGETHER!

Go CARDINALS!

9/11 Remembrance

I realize I'm days late in posting this but I did not want to not post it.  It's too important.  I remember 9/11/01 like it was yesterday.  I still remember where I was when I first heard about the first plane and then the second plane.  I remember hearing about the Pentagon being hit.  I remember when I heard United Airlines Flight 93 went down.  I was talking with my sister on Tuesday and I told her that it is all still so fresh in my mind. I knew no one from any of the incidents, however, I still feel very connected.  Perhaps it was because they were all innocent Americans that were going about their daily business when they happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.  My heart still breaks for all the lives lost and all the families/friends that lost a loved one.

I wandered over to Tempe Town Lake on my lunch break and visited the "Healing Ground memorial".  As with many sites across the United States, flags were staked in the ground and names of all the lives lost were attached to a flag.  It covered the entire lawn area and it was quite a touching site.

It was a very solemn visit that was too short.  I had a training that I had to go to otherwise I would have stayed and visited every single flag.

For as long as I live, I will always remember....

Preseason 2 - Cards vs. Broncos

We had a blast at the game on Thursday evening.  The Cardinals hosted the Denver Broncos in the 2nd preseason home game.   The game started at 8:00 pm and went into overtime.  We didn't leave the stadium until 11:30p.m.  We didn't get home until close to 12:30 a.m. which wouldn't have been so bad but we both had to work the next morning.  We both dragged ourselves out of bed on Friday and made it work about 9:00a.m.

The game was pretty uneventful since it was a preseason game.  I was in charge of photos and as you can see, I'm not a very good photographer.  I kept forgetting that I had the camera hanging around my neck.  I seriously missed a picture of John Elway because I was so engrossed in just watching him run across the field that I completely forgot to get a picture!  By the time Sweetheart reminded me to get a picture, he had already run back into the tunnel.  Needless to say, I will not be in charge of photos for the next eight home games.  Ha!

Here's what I did manage to capture:

My favorite kicker -- Jay Feely

Mr. Peyton Manning

Patrick Peterson #21

Willis McGahee
Before the game, during warm up:

My favorite mascot, Big Red #1.

I heart Big Red!

I love when the guys pray in the end zone.....

There's my QB (shhhhhhh, don't tell Sweetheart)
John Skelton #19

The Arizona Cardinals drumline doing their thing right before kickoff!  They are so much fun to watch, they get the entire stadium on their feet and clapping/pounding to their tune as we get ready for kickoff!
Go Big Red Thunder!
And of course, there's Big Red dancing to the tune and leading the way:

I stalk Big Red through out the game.....

These are the shots I managed to get during play time:

Everyone loves Larry Fitzgerald #11

Manning never played, this was coming back from halftime

Our next game is on Sunday, September 9th!  It's our first regular season home game and we are playing the Seattle Seahawks.  We've got our tailgating gear all ready to go and we can't wait!

Go CARDINALS!
