Birthday Cards

It was my Sweetheart's birthday on March 9th. I took a picture of all the wonderful cards he received. He is blessed to have so many people that care about him!

I made a special card for my Sweetheart. It's the one right behind the one with the two dogs in it. I also made the cards below.

For my cousin:

For her daughter:

We are off to Tucson tomorrow to deliver presents and cards. Looking forward to the drive so I can spend quality time talking and singing with my Sweetheart!

Have a great week!!

Shhhh, don't tell My Sweetheart.......

Remember this lamp from my last post? Ikea lamp with turquoise ribbon on it?

Well I stopped by Target today on my way home from work. My Sweetheart had to work late so I ran in for non lamp related business. Well, I walked out with this cute nickle plated lamp. I bought the square lampshade last weekend at Target on clearance. When I saw this cute lamp (on sale by the way) I just HAD to get it. I've got this thing for lamps. I'm totally obsessed. My Sweetheart doesn't understand how I can have 3 lamps in storage that I refuse to give up while purchasing more lamps. I just love lamps. What can I can say??

So take a look. Cute, huh? I had to put the ribbon back on because he would have totally noticed "something different". Then he would start snooping. Then ask me what was different. Then I would fold and admit I bought a new lamp. And he would lecture about the 3 lamps in storage. So instead, I buy the lamp, RUSH home, replace the old one and pretend nothing exciting is going on.

I love my new lamp. The picture just doesn't do it justice.

My Tiny Corner of the Office......

My Sweetheart and I decided to paint our office Dallas Cowboy colors one day. Yes, it's a sick obsession he has with the Cowboys. But that's a story for another time.

I love girly, cute, stylish, etc. See where I'm going with this? In an office that is painted navy, silver and white I am limited with how I can make my little tiny corner in our office my own. I recently added more items to my space to make it more me and less Cowboys.

Meet my workspace:

Here's another view. Oh, can you see the hockey sticks and the hockey puck on the wall? Oh and the silver and white stripes along the top of the wall?

And the Elvis Presley street sign? Classy, right? Actually, I love Elvis so that I secretly love this:
Opposite wall from me. Blue walls ALL the way around by the way. Cowboy's flag. Cowboy's stuff on the ways. That's just ONE wall:

Another wall with a bookshelf that holds more sports stuff. By the way, the Miami Dolphin stuff is mine. Hee, hee.

Hockey sticks and autographed puck that sits right over my nice area:

Here's how I make it girly. Turquoise ribbon on my mail box. My Wonder Woman plaque. My MJ calendar. It's the February page, but I can't bear to change the page to March. I just love MJ. Thriller being my favorite!

My lamp with more of that turquoise ribbon. A "I heart Elvis" music box that my favorite niece gave me. She's my only niece so it's okay that I call her my favorite. It plays Love Me Tender. I use it to house my paperclips. My $3.00 picture frame that I got on clearance at Marshall's. Spray painted Aqua. And my tea light holder so I can light some scented tea lights while I work:

My magazine holders and my CD holder where I store the CD's with all my pictures. See the Aqua vase? It was a clear glass vase that I bought at Ikea. I needed something with color up there so I spray painted it Aqua:

On the wall, behind my monitor a pencil drawing of MJ that my nephew drew for me. I LOVE it.

Flowers and turquoise/aqua colors amidst all that navy blue in an attempt to girl it up:
Oh and don't forget Kurt Warner. Must have Kurt Warner on my desk. For obvious reasons:

Next on the agenda: Cute girly chair. Rug on the floor. Repaint the room in a color that is NOT navy blue.

p.s. girly may not be a real word but I was trying to make a point.
