Rainy Day in Phoenix.....

It rained all day again.
This is what a rainy day is all about....laying in bed in your comfy clothes:

This was the first weekend in 2 months that we stayed in Phoenix both Saturday and Sunday. It felt good. We were supposed to head to Tucson for my cousin's birthday luncheon but it was raining so much and it was windy that we didn't want to travel the 90 miles in that weather. I woke up this morning and saw that it was still raining and I suggested to My Sweetheart that perhaps we should not drive to Tucson. He agreed. So we stayed in and enjoyed a day together. It's been a while that we've spent the day alone; usually we are running around taking care of family responsibilities (my dad in Tucson has been ill and I've been helping my sisters take care of him).

So we had a nice lunch, did some shopping, then came home and I cleaned and he worked on his PC. Grievous laid on his little couch in our office all day. My Sweetheart put a sweater on him because it was cold today.

I started my Easter decor today. Finally! Here's a sneak peak. I am almost done but I have some finishing touches to do. Plus I have two projects that I will start on next weekend.

Vacation Planning and Easter Decor

On our way home from Tucson this evening, we were talking about where we should go on vacation this year. Last year we went to San Francisco. The year before Miami. This year, we were thinking of going to the Grand Canyon. We wanted to take Grievous on a trip with us. We took him on a trip to Sedona last year and he loved it. He travels well so we were thinking...the Grand Canyon. My Sweetheart wants to invite my parents and my sisters. I am thinking just the three of us will make a nice long weekend. A very much needed long weekend. Maybe we can escape to Mexico for a couple of days at the end of summer. That would be nice.

As far as my Easter decorations go....we've been so overwhelmed with going to Tucson every weekend to see my Dad that I am now behind on Easter decor. I usually have all my Easter decorations out by Ash Wednesday. I wanted to pull my Easter bins out tonight when I got home but my Sweetheart put the kibosh on it. He said he will pull them out for me tomorrow. Aughhhhh!!!

Planning on going to the movies tomorrow after Mass. We'll see how that goes. Usually we start off with movie plans and end up at home on the couch with Grievous lying between us.

Ash Wednesday

Today marks a very special day for me. It's the beginning of lent. The start of a journey. It is by far my most favorite holiday. Easter is as meaningful to me as Christmas is. The Passion has deep meaning and I look forward to participating in all of the activities: Ash Wednesday, Stations of the Cross every Friday and the Passion during Holy Week all leading to the celebration of the risen Christ.

Today my Sweetheart and I attended mass. It's a special time for us. I am looking forward to spending another year preparing for Easter Sunday.
