The Hall Bathroom....complete!

It took me about 5 weeks to complete a 3 day project! Lately it seems that all my projects are taking longer than I project. I think it's because my Sweetheart is a bad influence. I can start a project and he can say "let's watch a movie". I always drop what I'm doing and say "okay!" It feels better to blame him than admit I tend to lack motivation at times....ha!

Here's somewhat of a before (I am the worst at before photos because I get too excited to start a project and forget to take pictures):

I painted the room Agave by Behr Premium Plus. It's a very pretty color. It's a blue/gray/green...depending on the time of day. I wanted the bathroom to have an almost 'spa-like' feel to it. The soothing blue/green with white and brown accessories makes the room very warm and comforting.

I love candles but I don't like to burn candles while unattended so this tea light holder was perfect in here. I think it's adorable:

The liquid soap dispenser and soap dish are from Target. I bought some lavender soap from Tuesday Morning and it gives the room a nice fragrance. The twigs are from Hobby Lobby and the vase is from Ikea:

I bought these wall sconces at Joanne's Fabrics. They were 40% off. I love them!

The sunburst mirror I bought at Marshall's. I really like it in here.

Oh, I made the shower curtain from a sheet. I chickened out of making button holes and decided to just run the rod through the curtain. It looks good enough. I really like how simple yet inviting the room looks:

Now, on to my next project. It's a big one. I'm painting the guest bedroom which will double as my craft room. I am very excited about this one!

Floor Project Complete!

Wow! It's been over a month since my last post. Time sure does fly! We finished the floor project. It actually only took 3 days to complete the entire house (minus the bedrooms).

Here's the picture I last posted which shows what it looked like while they worked on it:

And here's how it looks now:

We bought the tile at Lowes. It was on sale. It's not the most glamorous of tiles but we had limited funds. We didn't want to spend too much since we wanted to make the house look nice mostly for resale value. Even though it's not super expensive, it still looks very nice:

We've been on the hunt for rugs. We need one for the living room and for the dining area and for the entrances. Until we find what we want, I bought these at Target. They help keep dirt outside:

My Sweetheart has been aching for a new TV. The TV we had was a big screen but it was projection and fit nicely into this cut out. We decided months ago that he could get his new TV this year and he had been on the hunt for weeks now. He was looking for the best deal. I outlined the size of the TV he was looking for with painters tape so we could see what it would look like on the wall. This was our view for the past 3 weeks:

Since his last TV was a projection, it took almost the entire wall and we used a shelf to house the electronics (see here). Well since we were getting a flat screen that either had to be mounted or set on top of something, we decided it was time for a new entertainment center too:

I know that shot is a little messy. I was listening to my ipod while cleaning (you can still see my cleaning supplies). Oops.

On to my new project! I am painting the hall bath. Previously builder white with beige, brown and burnt orange decor. Here's a peek at the new color:

Back to work. I think it's going to be stunning!

Floor Project Underway!

I am so excited! This weekend, we are having tile installed throughout the house. It's been a project that has been on our 'to-do list' for some time. My sweetheart had this house built in 2000 so the house is 10 years old. The house has had the same builder grade carpeting and flooring for 10 years! It was time for a change!

Last year, we decided to upgrade the backyard before we tackled the floor. Mostly because we figured that the empty back yard that was just dirt and rocks (and mud when it rained) was being brought inside the house via General Grievous. So we wanted the backyard done before the floors were installed because we didn't want dirt, rocks and mud on our new floors!

So now, it's time for the floors! I have a TON of pictures to show but our office is filled with furniture so I can't get to my laptop to download the pics.

This is what was happening yesterday:

I just can't wait to see the finished floors!
