The Hall Bathroom....complete!

It took me about 5 weeks to complete a 3 day project! Lately it seems that all my projects are taking longer than I project. I think it's because my Sweetheart is a bad influence. I can start a project and he can say "let's watch a movie". I always drop what I'm doing and say "okay!" It feels better to blame him than admit I tend to lack motivation at times....ha!

Here's somewhat of a before (I am the worst at before photos because I get too excited to start a project and forget to take pictures):

I painted the room Agave by Behr Premium Plus. It's a very pretty color. It's a blue/gray/green...depending on the time of day. I wanted the bathroom to have an almost 'spa-like' feel to it. The soothing blue/green with white and brown accessories makes the room very warm and comforting.

I love candles but I don't like to burn candles while unattended so this tea light holder was perfect in here. I think it's adorable:

The liquid soap dispenser and soap dish are from Target. I bought some lavender soap from Tuesday Morning and it gives the room a nice fragrance. The twigs are from Hobby Lobby and the vase is from Ikea:

I bought these wall sconces at Joanne's Fabrics. They were 40% off. I love them!

The sunburst mirror I bought at Marshall's. I really like it in here.

Oh, I made the shower curtain from a sheet. I chickened out of making button holes and decided to just run the rod through the curtain. It looks good enough. I really like how simple yet inviting the room looks:

Now, on to my next project. It's a big one. I'm painting the guest bedroom which will double as my craft room. I am very excited about this one!

Mini Hallway Makeover...complete!

Remember the project I started weeks ago here? Well, I am finally finished!! We had a full weekend scheduled but our plans changed at the last minute and I totally took advantage of it!

My project started when I painted the little wall in the mini hallway. I added the mirror that I painted that I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby:

Then, I found this cabinet with drawers on clearance at Home Goods. Not the color I wanted but I figured I could paint it.

And here it is now:

Espresso Brown paint and nickle drawer pulls from Home Depot:

Now, my little area is complete!!

I love it!

Mini Hallway Makeover

This weekend I decided I was going to paint this mini hallway that leads to our bedroom. When we painted the great room about 4 years ago, we didn't paint the hall for whatever reason. I don't remember why. We left the cutouts and the trim white so maybe I thought the hallway should be white too...? Anyway, for the past couple weeks I had been wanting to paint the hallway and hang some hooks on the wall to hold our "working in the yard" hats. I thought it would be a great place to hang them.

My Sweetheart and I stopped at Hobby Lobby this weekend and as I browsed the clearance isle, I found this mirror on clearance for $10.00! Original $49.99. Perfect! I didn't like the white but I knew I could always paint it.

I was so excited to get started! I ran to Home Depot and bought my paint. I bought a quarter of what I thought was the right color. I wanted the same color as the great room which is called Hotel St. Francis. Instead, I pointed to the color called Burned Toast because I was so excited to get started! So I got home, prepped the wall, and started painting. Then I realized the color was wrong! Too dark!! My Sweetheart told me to go ahead with that color since it would be an accent wall. But I couldn't! It would bug me knowing that I bought the wrong color. So I headed to Home Depot and bought the right color and some primer:

I primered the wall and while it dried, I taped up the mirror and spray painted it brown. Then while that was drying, I came back inside and painted the wall. This morning I begged My Sweetheart to hang my mirror. When he did, I added our hats:

Looks so much better and now we have a place to hang our hats! I am thinking of buying a small table to place Grievous' basket that holds his leashes and collars. Also, I am looking at the pictures and the mirror needs major cleaning. This is a good start though.
